This year we made Jesus a birthday cake. Kevin read to the kids about how the dark cake is like our sins and the white icing is like Jesus covering our sins. Lynen loved it. Luke just wanted to eat the cake and was telling us some story about stabbing it and blood coming out....?? We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus, and then we helped Him eat His cake. We also made Happy Birthday Cards. It was a nice time to take the focus off of us and presents, and to think about Him. I think we will make this a tradition.

Terrific! I know this was a meaningful time with the kids. I always thought about baking a cake like that when my children were little but never did. A wonderful tradition for you to be starting!!
